Green Beauty Scene: Holiday Headlines

There has been a lot of excitement and growth in the green beauty community and I’m here to share with you the news I’ve been most looking forward to! Check out the newest releases from Tata Harper, a collaboration between two eco-conscious brands, and S.W. Basic’s must see update.

Tata Harper

This cult natural beauty brand has a conveyor belt of new releases-just in time for the holidays.

Very Naughty & Very Nice: Limited Edition Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint Set
A jolly holoday set with two gorgeous tints: Very Naughty (a classic, rich ruby-red with a dramatic glossy finish) and Very Nice (a matte-crème pinkish-nude).

What T.H. says: The ultimate holiday color duo: rich, ruby-red and soft pink-nude are the perfect pair for creating varying moods from day to night. Greet the season with a fresh flush of natural color for lips and cheeks with Very Naughty & Very Nice. Which will you be?

Nourishing Oil Cleanser
I’ve been a fan of the oil cleansing method for awhile now so this product definitely piqued my interest.

What T.H. says: This gentle formula thoroughly cleanses skin with a silky blend of biocompatible oils and esters that dissolves makeup and daily impurities from pores while leaving skin’s moisture barrier intact.

Beautifying Face Oil
What Tata Harper says: This luxuriously lightweight, fast-absorbing face oil helps to instantly energize the look of the skin, leaving a silky-soft, hydrated surface with a brighter and firmer appearance.

Shen x Kaight Holiday Party Prep

Beauty emporium, Shen Beauty, carries such coveted brands as Antonia Burrell, Ilia, JINsoon, Kahina Giving Beauty, Kjaer Weis, LURK, Pai, RMS Beauty, and more.

Kaight is an ethical fashion shop with the premise of stocking independent designers that meet the following criteria: local production, organic textiles, reclaimed materials, fair-trade or zero waste.

Together, they have partnered up to bring you a curated selection of the best in eco-conscious beauty and fashion in Shen’s brick-and-mortar store in Brooklyn!

Another exciting update is the Brooklyn-based, cult indie favorite, S.W. Basics is now going to be available at Target! You can already find them online and expect to see their minimalistic, unisex packaging in stores March 2015.

This is definitely a game-changer for them and they have a lot of pressure as they transition from being a popular small company to one with worldwide exposure and outreach.

What has been one of the best things about this deal is that S.W. Basics has been able to stay true to their ideals and ingredients. The only change that’ll you’ll be seeing is actually one that will make you happy, S.W. Basics is lowering their prices!

Many see this as a foothold in the conventional side of beauty for the green community. One that could be the first step to bringing awareness to what this cause is.

I’m hoping that this will make people more conscious of the chemicals lurking in their products and teach the importance of checking your ingredient labels. Let’s all dream of the day that cleaner alternatives will become more ubiquitous on our store shelves!

For more information, check out No More Dirty Looks’ interview with Adina Grigore, the founder of S.W. Basics. She talks about what it’s been like behind-the-scenes and how people, including fans, have reacted to the news.
