I Know Places: New York

I’m off to the East Coast, taking a Redeye flight to D.C. and New York at this very moment. It’ll actually be my first time and I’m looking forward to seeing all the tourist attractions and also finding those hidden local gems.

In the meantime, here are some incredibly chic green beauty spots to check out in the Big Apple.

28 West Water Street
Sag Harbor, NY 11963
Phone #: 631-919-5000

A gorgeous display of their signature minimalism + a mix of modern and bright elements wake up the space. You can also find a lovely curation of brands like May Lindstrom,  Josh Rosebrook, Laurel Whole Plant Organics, and Kypris amongst their chic, unisex fragrances.

Cap Beauty

(Between Bleecker and Hudson St.)
New York, NY 10014

W3LL PEOPLE, Dr. Alkaitis, Odacité, Indie Lee, Kjaer Weis, Living Libations lined up side-by-side across shelves in the bright, friendly interior of this West Village gem.

219 Bedford Ave.
(between N. 4th and N. 5th St.)
Brooklyn, NY 11211
Phone #: 718-599-3457

Shop delicate jewelry pieces perfect for layering as well as pick out some green beauty finds, like Ilia, Aster + Bay, and Egyptian Magic.

I adore this rose gold bracelet and this unpretentious diamond ring.

Botegga Organica
117 Christopher Street
New York, NY 10014
Phone #: 212-243-3537

Recently, Lola (The Hermes Hippie) reviewed some of this high-end beauty brand’s products. Their packaging is opulent, without being cloying or pretentious. And, the ubiquitous addition of their star ingredient, prawn sage, is intriguing. Plus, their beautiful store is built entirely from reclaimed, recycled, and organic materials.

Bite Beauty Lip Lab
174 Prince Street
New York, NY 10012
Phone #: 646-484-6111

This beauty brand is praised both in the green beauty and mainstream communities for their bold, flattering color selections and impressive performance. Here, at their amazing lip lab you can have the chance to customize your very own lip product. You now have the power to release your inner artist and play around with colors, finishes, and even fragrances.
