Golden Globes 2015 Makeup Looks

Did any of you watch the Golden Globes last week? I did, and I spent most of it fawning over my girl crushes Amal Alamuddin, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Emma Stone.

Today I thought I would share some of my favorite makeup looks from the night, and how to re-create them using green products.

Allison Williams rocked dark-rimmed eyes, and sleek bombshell waves with a deep side part-a look that definitely turned heads. She somehow managed to look edgy and elegant at the same time.

Achieve this look with a shimmery, gunmetal gray eyeshadow (Kjaer Weis in Onyx) in the outer third and below the lower lash line. Darken the crease with a black shadow (I love the depth of Alima Pure in Ember as well), extending it in a V-shape. Sweep the excess on the lower lash line.

Williams was also sporting strong brows, so make sure to groom and fill them in with a good brow wax, it’ll help your brows appear fuller and the wax formula is preferable for an event where you’ll need your makeup to last. Add a few generous coats of mascara (The one by Lily Lolo is currently on my wishlist).

To highlight, add a light beige eyeshadow (I also like Silk Naturals in Crumpet for a more shimmery neutral) to the inner corner and along the brow bone. Finish off by rimming the eyes with a black liner (I’ve been eyeing the one by Antonym.)

Keeping the focus on the eyes, apply a pretty nude lippie, like Rouge Beauty Bunny in Nothing Unknown or Ilia Beauty In My Room for those who prefer a more pink-ish tone. Add a touch of peachy blush (Alima Pure Matte Blush in Apricot) as well!

Emma Stone
This redhead, doe-eyed beauty manages to find the balance between perfectly polished and efforflessly relatable. I am such a fan of her beauty + fashion choices as well as her personality.

For this look, she complimented her gorgeous green eyes with blue tones and a fuschia-red lip; her short bob styled in loose waves.

“With Emma’s look, we really went fun, coquettish, and flirtatious,” celebrity makeup artist, Rachel Goodwin explains. “We focused on both eyes and lips, which isn’t the norm — but we wanted something modern and ultra-feminine, not too serious.”

The key to this look is to keep it soft. Make sure to really blend out the colors. Start by tracing the outline of a cateye shape (don’t be afraid to be bold with it!) with a dimensional, glittery, black eye liner (Silk Naturals in Magnum is also nice. It should follow the natural curve of your eye. Blend it into the crease, outer third, and feather it out.

After that, blend a navy shade (I also like Silk Naturals in Bon Voyage) along the lid and lower lash line. This’ll create that beatiful look. Start with a light hand, and slowly build up the intensity for the best results. After that, apply a silvery shade in the inner corner to brighten the eyes and keep the look balanced.

Finish off with the stunning lip shade (Ilia Beauty 99 Red Balloons + Arabian Knights.) The trick is to find one that will compliment, but not overpower the bold eye look. It is important to find a balance when you have two focal points.

There were numerous looks that I adored (some of the other ‘nominees’ include: Leslie Mann’s statement orange lip + ombré hair, Emily Blunt’s taupe eyes and braided updo, and Kiera Knightley’s berry-lipped, warm brown smokey eye look) but these were the two that felt the most unique to me + I wanted to try the most.
